Some of what goes on in Congress
|
This is a YouTube video that was made of US Rep. Tom Price-6th Dist. Georgia, a physician for 25 years, on Wednesday. Tom is a member of the House Health Care Committee, and the video was shot in the Wed. Committee meeting. Please share this with everyone you know.............this healthcare legislation MUST be defeated. Please share this video. Tom has said that our Constitution is being burned right before our very eyes. We must, Democrats and Republicans alike, let our "leaders" know that this plan is unacceptable. |

Thanks for posting this, Larry. I am going to reblog it.
Simply put, the government has created an entitlement program in Medicare and Medicaid that is broke and it wants the billions of dollars that are currently flowing to private insurers. The private insurers only insure those that are risked based, ie, younger ciitzens. If the government could get the younger crowd, it could pay its bills.
Instead of new legislation, let's start with fraud clean up. Plelosi herself has said there is a trillion dollars wasted in the government programs now.
We all need to realize though, that the problem is not us, it is our elected officials that go to Washington to represent the lobbys.
Home Realty Group is right. The problem is that the thieves we elect go to Washington to serve the lobbyists, not us. If we could all have Congress Members health plan noone would be complaining but I am sure it would cost way too much for us to have that kind of royal treatment. Everyone should really start looking into the The 912 Coalition and Tea Parties and really get behind the movement for REAL CHANGE. The way things are going right now it doesn't matter if you are a republican or democrat because they are scarily similar anymore.
I'm all for the whole enchilada. Profit making insurance companies have NO place between patients and health care. It totally blows my mind that anyone can suggest otherwise. This country has been fed so much crap on TV and so little else that they've swallowed the corporate entitlement lunacy hook, line and sinker. I'm embarrassed to be an American.

Larry, Doctors know this is bill is a piece of junk. My Uncle is a physician and he is very opposed to it. It must be defeated!!
I don't want the Government running health care in this country. It is the "profit motive" that has made our system the best in the world.
Why is it never the intelligent soft spoken members of congress that are listened to.
Larry,
Great Post. It is always amazes me, how much money is wasted by having the government solve the problem, wouldn't be better to outsource to handful of think tanks.
Thanks for sharing,
Matt
Larry,
Great post. I think the government has there hands in too many pies and they don't always solve the problems and in some cases add to them. Government does not need to be involved in the Health care issue. We already have the insurance companies telling us who we can and cannot see. I am seeing to many things that are pointing to socialism.
"If the Government takes over, it will be one of the most colossal blunders in the history of this Nation!"
No kidding, Larry, like they've done such a good job with the banks, cars, etc! LOL Anyway, I posted this link on twitter. Thanks for sharing so we can get more of the word out!
It makes me so sad that partisan politics require ramming such a bill through, without listening and thinking through other viewpoints. Listening to him, you can sense is frustration.
Larry,
Saw the video...super...! This guy speaks with too much clarity for the media to cover...!!! Thanks, Fran
Elizabeth....No government program other than the IRS has ever done what it's supposed to do. You want your health with them? Are you kidding me?
Larry - I happen to live in Tom Price's district. He is a voice of reason in an otherwise cacophony of political rhetoric.
Canadians are watching the US with great interest to see what, if anything, the USA will do about health care. The Canadian system is completely different than the current US system.
It is a futile attempt and a loss of energy that could be utilized getting one more closing this month. .
you can not change the Goverment . . . but Goverment CAN change you . . accept it and go on. .
Tom Price is my Congressional representitive and he is absolutely the finest! He does nto cave on his beliefs and really is a great American. This is the difference when a person that lived and worked in the private sector goes to DC. He gets it!
I agree with Liz on this one. And are you saying that the government run healthcare for the troops is not working Larry?
No system is perfect, but insurance companies running the show, how is that good??
And all the nay sayers our there, rather than just block, how about coming up with something constructive? One thing's for sure - the current system is not working and something needs to be done.
Denise.....government run health care? You mean the same health care that they've had ever since the inception of the military? What's that got to do with a national health care plan? The national plan will have nothing to do with the military health care plan by the way. And, for the record, my Dad is an anesthesiologist, my grandfather one of the first 2 lung surgeons in the United States, and my 3 brothers are medical doctors as well. Let's be honest....if you get sick, pray that you don't have to use a V.A. hospital. Let's not forget that the infection rates in the V.A. hospitals are over 1000%, yes.....1000% higher than those of private insured hospitals. So to answer your question....yes, it works for the troops, but not the vets and it won't work for the rest of us, nor will it work for the senators and reps who put in the Kennedy exception so that they don't have to have that crap for their own families? Did I answer your question Denise????
I do agree that the current system sucks. How about making 80% of the premiums going to the health care providers and not to the middle HMO's and PPO's etc. I'm sure that would be a good start. I'm an attorney and I still think that tort reform is mandatory. Those are 2 good starts. You agree there? If so, we have a common ground to build on. One final thought....how about all the house and senate need to test drive the new insurance for 2 terms themselves. If it works well enough for the newly elected to keep it, then we're good, but if they hate it and repeal it, then we're still dealing with a broke system.
